These cannot always be ruled out due to the different production conditions as well as preloaded raw materials.<\/p>\n<p>In relevant quantities, unintentional traces lead to allergic reactions, which is understandably irritating to consumers, retailers and producers.<\/p>\n<h2>The solution to the problem: A product label for more clarity<\/h2>\n<p>The new label creates a uniform definition of risk for unintentional allergen contamination in food. Manufacturers use the new symbol to convey technical competence and customers receive information that will help them make a purchase decision.<\/p>\n<p>The product label has great potential. Of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hipp.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Baby food producer HiPP<\/a> recognized this and has been part of the project since the start of the pilot phase. The company has had a comprehensive allergen management system for years. This takes the approximately 3.5 million people under the age of 25 with food allergies by the hand.<\/p>\n<h2>The test criteria of the DLG-tested allergen management<\/h2>\n<p>DLG and DAAB e. V. have jointly developed a comprehensive concept for good professional practice in allergen management. In addition to the risk assessment and communication of unintentional allergen inputs, existing standards such as IFS and BRC are supplemented.<\/p>\n<p>To receive the product label, you must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a comprehensive in-house risk assessment with regard to &#8220;trace&#8221; notices,<\/li>\n<li>high requirements well above the legal standard as well<\/li>\n<li>regular allergen management audits in production facilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>to be met.<\/p>\n<h2>What does that mean for you as a producer?<\/h2>\n<p>If you are certified, you will receive a unique selling proposition with which you can score points at the POS.
